Our story

Welcome to Chen Chen Flower Farm! I’m Yajing Chen, a mother of two and long-time flower lover and now so excited to share my blooms with others. My inspiration has always been my grandmother, Laolao, who loved the peonies of her North China hometown and the humble cockscomb she grew in our courtyard. In our backyard farm here in Yarmouth, we specialize in these flowers, along with many others including tulips, ranunculus, roses, and dahlias, and you can find our bouquets at local cafes and farm stands. Before turning my love of cut flowers into a business, I earned a Ph.D. in International Comparative Education from Indiana University (Go Hoosiers!) and worked in higher education and in international education consulting. I’ve found growing flowers and getting my hands dirty in the Maine soil is much more fun! I am so glad to have found supportive neighbors and flower friends here — let’s grow something beautiful!
